The Benji Project
A joyful, welcoming space where children and families can play, create, and celebrate Pride together. Filled with giant bubbles, face painting, crafts, games, and colorful activities, the Kid Zone is designed to spark creativity, self-expression, and fun for all ages.

Join Lavender Lemonade at 1:45 PM for Drag Story Time, a beloved Pride tradition celebrating storytelling, imagination, and queer joy for children and families.

From laughter and glitter to unforgettable family moments, the Kid Zone is one of the happiest and most magical parts of Port Townsend Pride.
Kid Zone

Sensory Zone
Port Townsend Pride is committed to creating a welcoming and accessible experience for all attendees. Our Sensory Zone, located inside the Cotton Building, offers a quieter, lower-stimulation space for anyone who needs a break from the activity and energy of the festival.

The Sensory Zone is open throughout Pride and is available to people of all ages. Visitors will find a calm environment with reduced noise and visual stimulation, as well as sensory-friendly resources including noise-canceling headphones and hands-on sensory activities.

Sunflower lanyards will also be available. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a voluntary way to let others know that you may have a disability, condition, or need that is not immediately visible and that you may benefit from additional understanding, patience, assistance, or time.

Whether you need a moment to recharge, regulate, decompress, or simply enjoy a quieter space, the Sensory Zone is here for you.

Shannon is an illustrator turned designer, turned organic farmer, turned educator currently living on Salish land in Washington State. Their work is inspired by the natural world, fantasy, community, and the liminal spaces we move through every day. At the heart of everything they do is a love for collaboration and creating playful, engaging spaces, whether working with students or clients.

You can catch Shannon at their booth at Port Townsend Pride this year, bringing that same creativity and joyful energy to the celebration.

Accessibility
Port Townsend Pride is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible experience for our entire 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including people with disabilities, neurodivergent folks, elders, youth, and families.

Event Layout & Mobility
The event takes place at Pope Marine Park. Approximately 30 booths, including food vendors, the stage, and the Sensory Zone, are located on paved surfaces. An additional 40 booths are located on grass. Event entrance and exit points are on paved areas.

Parking
Accessible parking will be available on the closed roadway directly in front of the festival grounds for attendees who need closer access to the event. A disabled parking permit is welcome but not required. If you have accessibility or mobility needs, please use this parking area.

Restrooms
There will be one ADA accessible portable restroom available onsite. Permanent public restrooms located just outside the event area are also ADA accessible; however, they are gendered, with male and female designations only.
Sensory Support
A dedicated Sensory Zone will be available in the Cotton Building as a quieter, lower stimulation space for anyone who needs a break. The Cotton Building has a wheelchair accessible entrance, and the door will be propped open during event hours for easier access. Noise canceling headphones will be available to borrow. Hands on sensory experiences will also be available.

Stage & Sound
All performances include amplified sound, and speakers are placed throughout the event area. Sound levels may be high and can vary depending on the performance. If you are sensitive to loud noise, parts of the event may feel overwhelming. We encourage use of the Sensory Zone or noise canceling headphones as needed.

ASL Interpretation
ASL interpreters will be present for the full Main Stage lineup from 12:15 PM to 5:00 PM, including speeches, live music, performances, and stage programming throughout the day.
