BACK IN TOWN
On Rhododendron Festival week, the New Old Time Chautauqua (NOTC) returns to Port Townsend to expand traditions and renew connections across generations with their unique brand of world class vaudeville and community spirit. On Saturday May 16th, the Chautauqua will host a “BIG SHOW” at the American Legion Hall in downtown Port Townsend.
From jugglers to musicians, magicians to giant puppets, hula hoopists to acrobats, and everything in between, this extravaganza will keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat. Starring Broadway Stars, The Flying Karamazov Brothers, Soundgarten's "Spoonman" Artis the Spoonman, Poet, Kevin Murphy, and Manny Moore (he can do anything) All this, accompanied by the Northwest’s longest-running, eclectic marching band, The Fighting Instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra (thriving since 1975)!!! All proceeds from the performance go to support NOTC’s 2026 Summer Tour and all its year round activities.

Since 1981, the New Old Time Chautauqua has travelled to underserved communities in rural areas and institutional settings throughout the US. Our focus is reaching audiences without access to live entertainment and quality arts education, and where joy, inspiration, and laughter are needed most.
This mission has led us to native reservations in Alaska, to New Orleans’ French Quarter immediately after Hurricane Katrina, to high security prisons, juvenile detention centers, and nursing homes throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, Oregon, Alaska, Washington State, and Idaho.

The Heart of the Port Townsend Chautauqua is the “BIG SHOW” Saturday May 16 at 7pm at the American Legion Hall in downtown Port Townsend. Featuring some of the best vaudeville acts in the world, bar none, this world class show is gonna knock your sox off and then tickle your feet 'til you're laughing so hard you'll be begging us to stop!!!
