​Help make our community stronger by volunteering at Preparedness Day on June 27 at Finnriver Farm & Cidery. Volunteers play a key role in creating a fun, welcoming, and educational event focused on emergency preparedness and community resilience. Whether you're helping with setup, activities, guest support, or cleanup, your time makes a difference.

As a thank-you, all volunteers receive a free cider after their shift and the chance to connect with neighbors while supporting an important community event
Volunteer Roles
WELCOME GREETERS
Needed: 8
Skills: Friendly attitude, basic customer service, willingness to use a Square card reader (training provided).
Role: Be the first smile guests see! Welcome attendees, help answer questions, count participants with a clicker, and invite visitors to support our nonprofit through a suggested donation. You'll help create a warm, positive first impression and make everyone feel welcome—whether they donate or not. Stationed at a table with chairs.
4 Shifts: 9:30AM - 12PM
4 Shifts: 12PM-2:30PM
ORGANIZATION LOAD IN TEAM
Needed: 2
Skills: Friendly communication, light lifting and walking, problem-solving and organization
Role: Help participating organizations get set up for success! You'll guide exhibitors to their assigned booth spaces, assist with unloading supplies, provide setup materials like zip ties and tape, and help keep traffic moving so parking spaces remain available for guests.
2 Shifts: 8AM - 9:30AM​
TPA HQ
Needed: 2
Skills: Friendly communication, basic customer service, willingness to use a Square card reader (training provided).
Role: Be part of the event's information hub! You'll share information about our nonprofit, help sell merchandise, answer questions, and sign participants up for activities like Tug of War.

TEAR DOWN / ORGANIZATION LOAD OUT TEAM
Needed: 2
Skills: Organization, teamwork, light lifting, problem-solving.
Role: Help exhibitors pack up and depart smoothly at the end of the event. You'll assist with teardown, direct organizations to approved loading areas, and help leave the venue clean and organized.
