OPEN SPACE SESSIONS
You shape the agenda. Anyone with a topic, question, or idea writes it down, announces it, and gets a space to host a discussion. Others join the conversations that interest them. Sessions are flexible—people can move between groups as needed.
How to Prepare
-
Think about a challenge, idea, or topic you’d like to explore.
-
Be ready to introduce it briefly.
-
You don’t need to be an expert—just willing to start the conversation.
-
Bring questions, insights, or materials that might help the discussion.
How to Sign-up at the Summit
-
Find the Open Space Kiosk in the Chimacum Gym from 10am-12:30pm
-
Create a poster naming and describing the Open Space you would like to host.
-
Get assigned a meeting space by the Open Space Coordinator
-
Give a 30 second pitch for your Open Space during afternoon plenary
Open Space has Four Rules and One Law (the Law of Two Feet),
The Four Rules state:
1. Whoever come are the right people
2. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have
3. Whenever it starts is the right time
4. When it’s over, it’s over
The Law of Two Feet states that:
“If, during the course of the gathering, any person finds themselves in a situation where they are neither learning nor contributing, they can go to some more productive place.” If you want to switch gatherings go to the Connections Cafe to find other offerings.
This is a chance to connect, share knowledge, and create something useful together.
